Kevin Crider

My Day Job

Born: June 4, 1964 in Columbus Ohio.

At the age of 3 1/2 our family moved from Ohio to Los Altos California. By the age of seven I started playing guitar, and then switched to the bass at the age of 14. I then began performing in High School. In my early 20’s, I was lucky enough to play along with my brothers in a band called Blue Scooter and the Crider Brothers. We opened for Gregg Allman, John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band, Fabulous Thunderbirds and many more. In my early 30's, I was in an AC/DC tribute band called Long Gon Bon.

In 1989 I started my solo recording career. I am currently working on my eighth solo CD. On all of these CDs, I played all the instruments. In 1996 I was working on my fourth CD called Signatures. On this one I played all of the background instruments. I was fortunate enough to collaborate with the talents of: Ronnie Montrose, Steve Morse, Pat Travers, Rick Derringer, Clarence Clemons, Brad Gillis, Jeff Watson, Mickey Thomas, Craig Chaquico, Davey Pattison, Norton Buffalo, Tom Coster, Lydia Pense and others.

In 1998 I moved to Seattle. I was there for six years and was in a couple of bands until the scene changed. In 2005 I moved to L.A. and joined an original band named The Cauze. A hard rock melodic progressive band. We did shows with bands like Skid Row, Winger, Warrant, Great White and many more. I spent 10 years in L.A. and then decided by the time I turned 50 I wanted to come back to the Sacramento area in Northern California where many of my friends had relocated to. So now I reside in Fair Oaks, CA. I've been here four years now and have played with: Bucket List, Four Barrel and The Austin Mo Xperience. I started a Rock and Roll Jam Night that I hosted at the Corner Pocket in Citrus Heights, CA that lasted 78 weeks. I have written and published two books, and I am currently working on my third one.
